This was perfect for my first MYOG project, a UL quilt. A little slippery at first, but I found at least with my machine, keeping good tension on the top layer of nylon kept everything square and not bunched.
This material is incredibly soft and light. I have used it for the inside of a hiking quilt. Found it easy to sew. Not tested yet. Excellent company to deal with. Pity freight from the States to Australia is so costly. Will definitely be my "go to" company for my DIY hiking supplies.
As usual, Ripstop by the Roll delivered high quality material for my DIY bivy project.
Used this fabric to build the under quilt.
I wanted to reduce the weight of the UQ, which would have to grow to some extent.
This fabric is surprisingly light and thin, but it has some solid texture and sewing was easier than I expected.
Also, compared to hyperD etc., I felt that it was less likely to fray even after cutting.
I use painter tape to temporarily fix the hem and mark the width of the chamber, but this feature has kept me less frustrated.
The transparent fabric helped me confirm and adjust the down placement after completion.
The finished UQ worked perfectly in the field.
I used the 0.66 oz MEMBRANE 10 taffeta nylon on my quilt several years ago and it is still like new after many nights out. Current project is an insulated hood to ware around camp and especially in bed with my quilt. Very nice feel on my face. Great people to work with, my order was shipped hours after placing it, and it arrived earlier than expected.
