What is a Data Sheet?

The ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) has a standardized set of tests that help users identify how a fabric performs under different types of stress.

These tests search for quantitative characteristics like waterproofness, air permeability, tear resistance, and others.

For example, HyperD 300 has a PU coating on the back of the fabric meaning that it is a waterproof fabric. But for those of us nerds that like to know HOW waterproof something is, the numerical values now give us comparable data.
