Order placed December 6, 2020. RBR clearly stated that shipping was going to be slow. It was shipped out December 28. As of Jan 10, 2021, I do not have my order but it still shows in transit. I have been happy with past purchases, so hopefully this will work out.
Hi Eric, thanks for the feedback. We apologize your order was shipped to you later than originally stated. If you email firstname.lastname@example.org we would be happy to look into this for you.
1.0 oz HyperD
I picked this to make a lining for a wool/cashmere overcoat I made. I wanted something that would be a little more wind/water resistant than a standard coat lining.
Pros: Incredibly light, soft, and silky. Initially I had chosen the calendared option as I wanted to max out wind resistance but it makes sort of a crackly sound which I knew would annoy me. The uncalendared feels like a nice dress fabric and it wasn’t overly hard to work with. I did experience a little puckering at the seams but that might have been my needle choice. I was working with an 11 because I was out of anything more dainty. Used a traditional garment thread.
Here’s what I didn’t care for: The fabric got really frayed as I was working. Next time I think I would opt for pinking or serging the edges. Also, the burnt orange color is a little lighter than I had hoped. I also found this with the burnt orange option of the .66 oz nylon taffeta which I used to make a coordinating removable primaloft filled liner for the same coat. But perhaps I just have a different vision of burnt orange!
Overall, I am looking forward to seeing how this experiment works this winter. I am also planning on using the same fabric in gray to make an insulated skirt since it is so soft and nice. As always, ordering from Ripstop by the Roll was a pleasure! It’s a great company!

I am happy to have been able to get a little more of this colour “Dark Purple” before it runs out and isn’t restocked. The HyperD is a little heavier than some of the other fabrics, but the colour choices are more interesting, so I sacrificed a little weight for some fashion. I made a box baffled down pullover with about 5oz down. Not something offered by any retailer that I know of. Very happy with the finished result. I hope RSBTR will offer this colour in other fabrics. It is not a feminine shade of purple at all. The photos do not show the real shade very well.
Thanks so much for your review Lynn! We would love to see photos of your pullover, be sure to tag us on social media!
