Using this to make the lower half of some winter bivy bags. Needed extra wide to allow room for wider, thicker mats and warmer sleeping bags. The 2.2 is a good compromise of weight and durability.
I got this for a tent floor and think it will be perfect! It seems thick enough to withstand the rocks and roots of the forest floor, as well as my dogs nails. The color is awesome as well with the hexagon pattern. Not an UL fabric, but a very strong fabric.
I had been looking for a lightweight coated rip-stop fabric for making a wideness shelter. I want something which is tough (for the floor) and water-proof (for the top). I also want a 'subdued' colour for safety (not 'tactical') reasons. A 1.9 oz fabric would seem good enough for rain protection. However, it probably is not good enough as the floor. I ran into this 2.2 oz rip stop at RipstopByTheRoll and it suits me perfectly. The thickness of the PU coating is just right and yet the fabric does not feel rigid. RipstopByTheRoll delivers on quality, value for money and service. Keep up your good work, please.
Good product and service
I was not let down. This is really great quality.
