My son's new favorite piece!
Paired 3/8” UL Side Release Buckle with 1/2” UL MIL-SPEC Nylon Grosgrain Ribbon when making my Dyneema pack liner. Light weight, buckles and unbuckles easily.
This 'standard bivy' was fabricated according to the Green Pepper pattern using 1.0 Silnylon MTN for the bottom, 1.0 Hyper-D for the top, a polypro mesh visor, and a removable (velcro) 0.7 MicroLite bug hood. The top is breathable and water-resistant, so it must be used in tandem with a tarp, shelter, or fast-pitch rainfly. It's about 7.5 oz.
I make zippered bags from this super lightweight fabric. Great quality and fast shipping
I love the DIY Kit, it is a great idea to introduce your products. That being said, the three fabrics are different. A small label on each piece to let us know exactly which fabric we are working with would have been very helpful for future order planning.
The samples I ordered are inspiration for projects. It's nice to actually touch and see the material before I make a purchase.
Kit was great and the video did a good job of explaining the construction steps. It was exactly what I wanted.
Ripstop is the best. Support for small business, very quick shipping/processing, quality materials, and good pricing. What more can ya ask for.
Have made several (8 or more) quilts from gossamer 0.56 to >1.1 oz per sq. yd in calendared nylon membrane ripstop, taffeta and hyperD options, I think this is my overall favorite and the sweet spot in terms of weight, durability, and soft, smooth silky skin sensation The lighter stuff is kind of like sewing tissue paper, and the other stuff can feel clammy.
Last night my 9 year old daughter showed me how to sew and we built this kit together. We followed the youtube video step by step, and had a blast making the tote. I will definitely be ordering/making more for friends and family.
Got this in sage for a down blanket I’m doubling the down on with baffles. Works very well
Great little carabiner, that’s actually functional for lots of uses other than climbing. Very small, both my wife and I carry one on our keys!
The DIY kits are fun and I've learned so much about sewing and using my machine from the
videos. It's fun to try different
fabrics and give what I've made to
friends. I'm practicing for making my own pack in the future!
I made a blanket using Alpha Direct 4004 with 1.1 oz ripstop nylon.
It's very warm and lightweight.
This is a fun kit! I was able to follow the QR code to the video instructions, but I kind of wanted a piece of paper too. Ironically, my sewing experience might have worked against me (lots of overthinking) but I did it anyway. Learn something new and end up a pouch, you won't regret it.
I wanted to save a little weight and have a full coverage tarp. Mine came in at 16oz with seamsealing, ridgeline and guylines packed up in a mesh tarp skin.
This stuff is tough as nails and smooth as butter. Cuts much more easily and more consistently than other gridstop fabrics I’ve tried. The soft purple is a great color as well.
Used this mesh to ADD a stretching pocket to front of existing backpack and another to other backpack. I always wanted to have the option to stuff items into a stretchy pocket found on all the new UL packs. Didnt want to spend 300+ dollars. Loved my current scream 55 bag and simply added a UL pocket to the front. Perfect for the usual items like an extra layer, tent stakes, **** kit, etc. GREAT!!!!
