Sorry, this item is out of stock
Purchased one yard of the Climashield Apex 2.5 oz. Once I opened up the package, the material had a fold down the center of the insulation that didn't look right. I emailed RSBTR and within 24 hours had a response from Leslie that what I received was probably a section where the manufacturer splices together two pieces. She said that while it is still functional, she sent another piece of insulation in the mail that day to ensure my satisfaction. The piece arrived and looks great. The insulation feels warm and appears to be great quality. Planning on using this for a small backpacking quilt for my daughter. Very happy with the product and extremely happy with the customer service!
Perfect product for what was looking to find
I made a hammock with built in under blanket and a top quilt to go with it. The climashield 2.5 is almost 3/4 inch thick after expanding. My previous camping hammock set up much too warm, only good for under 60°. This one is designed for Midwest summer camping. I slept in it on 55° night and was pretty comfortable. Below that, would require a hat and possibly sweater. But perfect for my intended use. The hammock, quilt, suspension, and 8*10 silnylon tarp is about 4 lb.
I ordered a front country quilt kit last year using the 5.5 apex with a silpoly pu 4000 outer shell for water and wind resistance. It's the bomb! Light weight pack able and warm. I use it during hunting season on long sits and when I bring my son. This year I ordered one in 2.5 apex for my mother who is in a nursing home, she needed something light weight and warm. She loves it ! I had to ask her for some sewing pointers. This project came out better than my first build. Your instructions are easy to follow and the end product is very nice! Thanks
Pretty thin and light, but feels very warm and durable.
