I purchased the 1.6 oz. HyperD PU4000 to make a few outdoor covers. One for a very nice picnic table that my son made for my wife this summer. The other for an outdoor "L" shaped sofa on our 2nd level deck. The original cover, made from much heavier material, was purchased about a year ago and has now completely fallen apart...and it wasn't an inexpensive cover. I was able to make the new cover for a fraction of the cost of the original and it's superior quality compared to the original. The material is great to work with. I was a little nervous with size needle I chose for the job but the thread I used was a little heavy and recommended a size 18 needle. No way I was going to use one that large with this type of material so I did some samples and found the smallest I could use was an 11. It sewed up with no problems at all. It's absolutely as advertised when it says it's waterproof. I will definitely be using these guys for future projects!
Wow Randall, thanks for the awesome review! We're glad this 1.6 oz HyperD PU4000 worked well for outdoor furniture covers. We'd love to see pictures if you have any, be sure to tag us on social media or email email@example.com

This stuff is a dream to sew. No puckering, runs smooth on the machine and takes hem folds easily, which makes the whole process a lot quicker. The weight of it helps it lay flat for marking and cutting out too!
It's not going to make the lightest smallest tarp ever, but the one I made is for someone who has little need for 'ultralight', mainly setting up close to home, and is going to spend a lot of time out in a lot of rain. And they love it!
I used Seamgrip for sealing the ridgeline and attaching HyperD 300 reinforcements.
Mara 70 thread. 3/4" thin webbing and beastie dee rings for ridgeline and 1/2" grosgrain with matching Beastie Dees for tieouts.
