Sil/PU (silicone/polyurethane) double coated 1.1 oz ripstop nylon (silnylon). This fabric is coated with a sil/PU layer on each side and is non-breathable. Lightweight and durable with some of the best waterproof/windproof performance on the market.

The silicone coating of this silnylon fabric makes it extremely strong for its weight (the silicone adds to the fabric's tear strength). Our silnylon is highly waterproof, but not breathable. Each side of the silnylon fabric can be exposed to the weather since it's coated on both sides and between the fibers.

Another bonus of silnylon is that its ripstop weave pattern means any small tears in your fabric will not expand or fray. This is done via the small reinforcement grids that are woven into silnylon fabric to prevent rips and runs.

This silnylon is a great fit for projects such as tarps, tents, ponchos, gear sacks, pack covers, or any application where waterproof/windproof fabric is needed.

NOTE - Colors with a reduced price of $4.75 /yd are being phased out of inventory. Once sold out, they will not be restocked.

Hiking Pole Tent

I used the 1.1oz Silnylon to make a ultralight hiking pole tent. I started off using double sided tape to join the segments to sew, but eventually moved to butterfly clips.
Super light and fully waterproof.

Thanks for leaving us a review Mike! We'd love to see picture of your hiking pole tent, be sure to tag us on social media!

Works for my project.

I am making small weighted lap blankets for kids. I bought the waterproof material for the inner part that contain the pellets. Some weighted blanket are very difficult to wash and dry. I thought of creating it this way so if something liquid was spilled on the blanket the inside pouch could be removed (waterproof) and the outside material can be washed without these hassle of the weighted insert needing to be washed. I look forward to the finished product.

Thanks so much for leaving us a review Kimberly! Your idea for a weighted blanket sounds really awesome. We would love to see photos when are you finished creating, be sure to tag us on social media!

Making rain skirts

This company and its fabrics are amazing. So many fun items to choose from. I haven’t used the fabric to repel rain yet, but I’m seeing rain skirts as holiday gifts for my lady friends. The fabric is lovely and easy to work with. My order arrived quickly and was accurate. Thank you for providing such great products for reasonable prices!
