The process was easy peasy. Hard part was choosing a color. The fabric I bought will be my ultralight footprint for my tent.
Thanks Julie! We're glad we're able to offer so many color options, enjoy your new UL footprint!
Purchased 18 yds to make a ~15x15’ tarp with tape-reinforced edges and multiple tieout points, along with a few stuff sacks. Light, slick material that really benefits from some sewing practice on scraps first to get needle and bobbin tensions dialed in just right. Haven’t had the opportunity to test in in the field yet, but it’s certainly lighter and packs smaller than the 10x12’ tarp it’s replacing.
We love to hear that! Have fun camping under your new MYOG tarp!
I ordered several pieces of silnylon for lightweight pack and canoe covers. The first one sewed up great, a blaze orange pack cover for hunting season. Used a small needle, #70.
That is an awesome project! We'd love to see photos of your canoe covers, be sure to tag us on social media!
I bought this originally to fill a unique request from a friend, to make a cover for her leather oboe case to keep the top of it dry when she stuffs it in the cup holder on her backpack to travel. Got that done, made a small bag to store it in. Now I’m thinking about other containers I want to make.
Wow, what a unique project! It's always fun to hear about what people are making and your project is no exception! Thanks for sharing with us, and be sure to tag us on social media if you have any photos!
