I have used Climashield for several hammock underquilts and over quilts. It is warm for weight and stays in place with just a few sewn places, so cold spots are not noticeable. For underquilts, i put in a few darts, then sew directly to the hammock bottom, which eliminates a layer of material compared to hanging a separate underquilt.
Thanks for your review, Edward! Making with Climashield and the continuous fill insulation is a bit easier to work with. It sounds like you've mastered many Climashield projects. We'd love to see photos, be sure to tag us on social media!
Ripstop has provided the material as promised and have been above and beyond in providing support and service. Their website is a great source of information as well. If we plan to MYOG again I wouldn't hesitate to use them.
Thanks for your kind review, Franco! We sure hope you MYOG again and if you ever have any questions about future projects we're always here to help!
I purchased the insulated blanket kit. I have no skills but my wife is rather talented. I got her the kit for Christmas so she could sew it and I could use it. It’s one of the best presents I got her for myself. I plan on packing it while turkey hunting with my daughter since she’s fairly fragile in the cold weather. Thanks rip stop.
Thanks Evan! I am sure that the blanket will keep you and your daughter warm on your turkey hunting trips, enjoy!
Thanks RBTR! We purchased two hammock kits for Christmas presents - great materials - great support video! We are delighted with the resulting netless hammocks and hope the nephews enjoy their new sleeping/sitting arrangements!
We also purchased a blanke kit which will be assembled today. The material and climashield is well-cut and ready to assemble! You all did the hard work for me.
I hope the nephews enjoy their hammocks! We're glad that we could make your creating process a little easier!
Used in a quilt, kept me warm at 40deg! Thanks RipstopByTheRoll!
Thanks for your review, Brian! We love Climashield in a quilt, enjoy!
