I tested a range of Silypoly weights and this seems to be the best option for weight to tear and puncture resistance. Great service as always.
Nice fabric to work with and so far it’s lasting well. However, this was my 2nd order of this fabric and while the 1st batch was perfect this latest batch had numerous flaws in the fabric (light coloured spots up to 1cm is size). Fortunately I was able to work around them and for a prototype shelter it was fine. I couldn’t have sold this to a customer though. If it wasn’t for the hassle of returning goods to the US from the UK it would have gone back. Not sure I can risk buying a full roll of this fabric right now.
Used this fabric to build a backcountry tent. Turned out great!
The selvage is uncoated and a full inch wide, making the usable width 70 instead of 72 inches. Still, 70 beats the normal usable 58 inches on regular width silnylon fabric. Weight, counting the selvage, is .9333, unless my electronic scale is malfunctioning.
