Shop Fabric SamplesFold-over Elastic is a part of our growing collection of sewing notions used to help you complete a variety of apparel projects. Patterns such as shorts, jackets, hoodies, and other projects require fold over elastic.
Different from flat elastic, fold over elastic is woven with a seam in the middle which makes it really easy to hold in place and fold evenly along the way. The results are not just aesthetic, but also functional as it reinforces the cuff and retains the shape.
*Note: Sold in pre-cut 5 foot sections. Enter a quantity of "1" for a single 5' piece, enter "2" for two 5' pieces, etc.
IMPORTANT - If you're ordering multiple sections and need a single continuous piece, please put a note on your order and we'll cut it continuous (* 100 ft max continuous cut).

Implementing this notion is really simple. The technique used is similar to what you would do when binding. You will fold the elastic over the the layer(s) of fabric that you’re looking to cover, encapsulating the seam allowance. Because this product is used to maintain stretch value, you will likely want to use a stretch or a zig zag stitch.
