I used the fabric to make a pair of weather/sweat/grime resistant armor plate bags. The Crye SPC leaves parts of your plates visible and exposed to the elements, and a simple set of plate bags with a sewn in drawstring literally takes less that 10 minutes to sew together. With the drawstring at the bottom, water and moisture from submersion can still easily drain out, and your plates will be well protected from view, sweat, and the elements.
I ordered enough to make a lightweight tarp, pack cover, or maybe half of what I need to put together a quilt/under-quilt/poncho liner/bivy roll.
Shipping was impressively fast and the product is top notch. I’m back for more (and some Apex Climashield) for the project mentioned above. It does have a slight sheen to it, but I imagine that will mostly fade with some use. Either way, it’s very minor. This is some great looking and handling fabric—thank you for making this available!
Thanks for leaving us such an awesome review Parker! It is always great to hear what people are creating with our fabrics so thanks for sharing! We would love to see some photos of your armor plate bags, here is a link if you'd like to share any. https://forms.gle/3YPazohAEh4CrvaN7
Exactly what I wanted, should be excellent for rain fly/wind break camping.
Thanks for the review Jerry! This 1.9 oz PU coated ripstop nylon will be great for a rainfly, enjoy!
Good pattern and PU coating.
Cloth is fairly light and waterproof. Making external pouches for Eberlestock G1 pack as well as a rain fly. 2 yards is alot more than i thought. Delivery was timely, I will definitely buy from them again.
Used as outer fabric for a simple quilt with the 3.6oz synthetic insulation and the .66 membrane 10 on the inside. Slight taper for the foot box and just used draw cord and kam snaps on sides. Still packs nice and seems like it may be the trick for some rainy season tarp camps in Florida. Ordered 3 yds and have enough for a stuff sack for my other quilts I’m making. Thanks
