Excellent Goose Down

I used the down to upgrade a sleeping bag that had only 8.5 ounces of down, and now has 14.5 ounces. The warmth rating now should move from comfort 41/32 low to comfort 32/20 low.

Excellent

I haven't used it all yet but I've added some down to a baffle I accidentally ripped on a HG quilt and am waiting on some tenacious tape to finish the rest. 3oz seemed like not a lot of down when I ordered but once I started filling the baffle I realized a little goes a long ways. My 0 degree quilt came with 12oz to begin with so an added 3oz will be a significant upgrade in keeping the down in place. I'll update as time goes on with my project that I'm doing.

HyperDRY 850 FP Goose Down

Nicely packaged, quality product for beautifully light and puffy MYOG goodness! Stores well for extended periods while the quilt is planned and replanned before taking the plunge.
It wasn't as tricky to use as I'd been led to believe. No draughts, gentle movements.
I opted to measure out the preplanned weight into a mixing bowl on the scales. Some stuffed by hand, some stuffed into a plastic tube and blown into the bottom ⅓ of the baffle chamber.
Once it's all sewn up, the patting can commence and it soon fills out beautifully.
I tried loosening some up before stuffing, some I simply left as is, to me it seemed easier leaving it in clumps and patting the finished quilt into shape. . I surprised myself with how well it worked out. Can't wait to start getting more down for the next project!

Easy ordering

I ordered 2x3oz packs of Hyperdry 850 Goosedown packets to improve the temp of my quilt from 20°F to 0°F. The down is of exceptional quality, no quilled feathers at all.
