For the first time in RBTR history, we are sponsoring a handful of makers as they pursue their 2021 adventures!Â
So, what is the adventure sponsorship? And how do you win? In this blog, we’ll highlight what this campaign is all about.
Maybe you're planning to bike the Erie Canalway Trail, section hike the Pacific Crest Trail, or climb the Cirque of the Towers. Whatever your adventure is, it can be even better with custom DIY gear!Â
It’s pretty simple, really.
We aren’t just looking for expert sewers.Â
We're looking for people who have the curiosity and desire to make better gear than what you're able to buy. We are wholly open to your ideas! Be specific when writing your application. It will help us understand you better. We want to hear all your plans, dreams, and desires!
Applications will close on Sunday, January 31st, 2021 at 11:59 pm EST. Â
Winners will be selected and notified by February 8th, 2021.
Five lucky winners will receive the following:
Photos/Video:
Adventurer Spotlight:
Instagram:Â Â Â Â
Note: We're looking for high-quality, yet organic content.Â
For example, photos and/or videos don't have to be professionally edited. If you want to do that, then cool. But don't feel like you have to spend forever and a day making things perfect. The point is to have fun, make kickass DIY gear, and share your experience with others!
We want this campaign to do three things:
1. Inspire other makers to do epic adventures and make epic gearÂ
At one point, we were all beginners and amateurs. It can be difficult to break into a new hobby and community. Our hope is that through highlighting your process, others will derive inspiration and feel empowered to continue their journey.
2. Bring exposure to your channels and your adventuresÂ
We’ll be very clear - we think you DIYers are freaking awesome! There are a lot of great people out there making incredible gear. We have the privilege of a large social following. Part of utilizing that platform is making sure the focus gets placed on well-deserved individuals.
3. To see gear in action on our pagesÂ
Some few of us get stoked on Tensile Strength and Hydrostatic Head metrics, but everyone loves to see great gear in the outdoors. You, the makers, bring our products to life. Without your intuitive design, thoughtful creativity, and endless potential, our fabrics would lose their luster.Â
We’re not being over dramatic when we say that our company is all about you! Rolls of fabric don’t do much for the world. But makers doing incredible things with that fabric - now that’s something to be excited about :)
We require that all winners:
1. Abide by state and local regulations during their adventure   Â
2. Have a comprehensive plan for COVID-19 safety and risk mitigation
