  • This kit contains all the items required to make a 3/4 length Climashield APEX hammock underquilt.  Take out the guesswork and get exactly what you need.

    Kit includes:

    Inner/Outer Shell Material (*choose material/color above)
    2 yds each 

    Climashield APEX Insulation (*choose weight above)
    2 yds 

    Components (*prepackaged)
    (10') 1-1/2" MIL-SPEC grosgrain
    (3') 1/2" MIL-SPEC grosgrain 
    (4) Lineloc 3s 
    (15') 1/8" Shock cord 
    (5) Regular cordlocks
    (2) mini-carabiners

    We've prepackaged the standard components you'll need, so all you do is select your inner/outer shell material/color and insulation weight. Choose from all our in-stock breathable quilt materials, including HyperD® and MEMBRANE10®. 

    * Note - On cart page, kit, fabrics, and insulation will be shown separately, but total price will remain the same. This is done to manage fabric inventory. Please note that all kits are sold as a unit. We cannot sell components or any portion of the kit separately. You may purchase more than one kit, but multiple kits must be added to cart individually.

Handy Underquilt Option.

Its nice to have everything I need for an underquilt in a little kit! I’ve purchased two of these now. One with 5oz Climashield and one with 2.5 oz Climashield. I modified the design slightly. The hardest part about doing an underquilt seems to be lining up all the layers and not getting them pulled out of being square. The Climashield is a little tricky to sew straight. It likes to catch on the sewing machine foot.

Great Project!

Made this in 1 weekend. Got to use it along with several others kits in the wind and rain. Temp got down into the 40s and I stayed nice and toasty! Love it!

Awesome kit!

I made mine smaller than directed (46”x50”) for a minimal summer uq, that goes from above my shoulders to the back of my knees.(I’m 6’1”) With the 3.5 apex it came to just over 13 oz with a stuff sack. Had enough stuff left over to make a stuff sack for it and an apex balaclava.

3/4 underquilt

Arrived promptly with no directions, but I found them online. Plenty of fabric and insulation to complete project. However, the elastic cord is very short on my completed 3/4 length quilt. It might be ok on full size, but due to the shorter length quilt, longer elastic cord is needed to run to the hammock suspension.
