  • We searched far and wide for a webbing that was stronger, tougher, and  lighter than everything else. When we couldn't find it, we made it. Introducing Venom™ UHMWPE webbing.

Designed, woven, and produced from scratch by us, Venom™ webbing uses one of the world's strongest fibers (UHMWPE) to yield a webbing that's super light, crazy strong, and more abrasion resistant than common nylon and polyester webbing.

Simply put, our Venom UL webbing is perhaps the lightest, most durable load bearing webbing on the market

At 2.2 grams per foot and 1800 pounds in breaking strength (*1" variant), it's a whopping 76% lighter than our standard 1" polyester webbing with the same strength.

Coupled with an ultra tight weave and solution dyed yarn, you get maximum durability and jet black color that won't rub off or fade quickly with UV exposure.

Venom™ webbing has been tested and approved for use as sewn tree straps in hammock suspension using various knots like the marlinspike hitch and beckett hitch. It works equally well as a tree hugger.

    * Note  - All sections of Venom™ webbing are sold in pre-cut 25 ft section and not continuous. For example, buying a qty of "2" 25 ft sections will result in two separate 25 ft sections.

IMPORTANT - If you're ordering multiple sections and need a single continuous piece, please put a note on your order and we'll cut it continuous (* 100 ft max continuous cut).

    Color Black
    Material/Yarn Venom™ UHMWPE
    Widths 1" and 2"
    Thickness 0.6 mm
    Tensile/Break strength 1800 lb - 1", 3600 lb - 2"
    Weight 2.2 grams/ft - 1", 4.4 grams/ft - 2"

*Usage with buckles: UHMWPE fiber is naturally more slippery than nylon and polyester. This combined with the thinness of Venom™ webbing can result in increased chance for slippage. We do not recommend using this webbing with cinch buckles, or other buckles in your hammock suspension system.

More like grosgrain ... really, really bomber grosgrain

I'm using this stuff where grosgrain isn't strong enough or "cool" enough. Since this stuff doesn't have much structure, thickness or grip, it doesn't work well for hardware but does great at lightweight and strength (think handles and straps). Tight weave, slick feel. I love the color. Unlike other colored UHMWPE products that just have a colored coating (i.e. Amsteel), this is black down to the fiber. No color wearing off!

Thanks Devon for leaving us such an awesome review! We are so glad that you are pleased with the Venom UHMWPE webbing and that its working well for your projects.

Ultralight Straps for Ultra Usefulness

This ultralight webbing is very thin, very light, and very strong. It can be used for lots of applications, though I’m using it for hammock suspension and as part of an ultralight pack.

A few things of note. 1. The webbing is slick and doesn’t work very well if you are counting on friction holding it in place. (Luckily I wasn’t. Lol) 2. Because it is so thin, the webbing twists very easily and can behave in a more rope-like manner.

That being said, I will be buying more. As soon as I save up for a splurge. ‘Cause this stuff is soo expensive. But it’s just too cool! The whole bunch of it hardly weighs anything at all.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review Rebekah! We're glad you find this webbing Ultra Useful! We'd love to see photos of your projects that you are working on, be sure to tag us on social media!

Tree strap Lightweight and high-strength type prototype
I got Venom UHMWPE Ultralight Webbinng. The lightest weight was 24mm in width, 1.2m in length, and 32g in weight (including one soft carabiner), but when I made it with the same specifications,
The weight has been reduced from 32g to 27g, and the strength has been increased to twice the catalog value (equivalent to the φ2.8mm DCF line).

Thanks so much for your review! We'd love to see photos of your tree strap system, be sure to tag us on social media or email us at social@ripstopbytheroll.com

Very light and strong

Was able to use my D rings on my hammock setup and did not slip at all afterwards week of use. I had heard that normal rings would slip.

That's great to hear Austin! Thanks for your review, we're glad the Venom UHMWPE webbing was a success for your hammock setup. Happy Hammocking!
