One of the best fabric to build kites
1.43 oz Dyneema® Composite Fabric CT5K.18
Great products and service, but a little difficult to source everything needed to make a DYI weatherproof stuff sack after making one from RBTR's kits (which were also sold out in some sizes/weights). We can give them a pass on this given DYI mania in these COVID days, but please RBTR, offer the Dyneema seam sealing tape at a decent price. $5.75 for 3ft. will barely get you through a small project. This needs to be made available by the foot for a reasonable cost to encourage us all to keep making stuff instead of buying ready-made.
Beautiful color and feel. Excellent service. Am excited to start my project with the fabric.
Purchased Dyneema to make bear bags. Seeing the ready made kit is $50 for 1 was great incentive to do it myself. Made 4 sets for about $50. The Ripstop tutorial on YouTube for the roll-top stuff sack was very helpful. Still took me a couple of tries to get it right. But that’s on me-not Ripstop. Ended up using the breathable nylon I had thought I would use as the base of fancified standing bags. But ended up using the nylon for the rock bags. Bonus though! Had enough of the breathable nylon to create face masks-also a Ripstop tutorial.
One important lesson: Dyneema is much easier to cut in one direction than the other. So be prepared for that. Also plan on sealing the seams-either with the Ripstop tape or the tube stuff.
