My first three small sewing projects! These zipper pouch kits were a great introduction to sewing and working with technical materials. Any chance we can open a Ripstop By the Roll up here in Canada?
I'm a noob at DIY gear and using a sewing machine. I thought why not jump into a small easier project to learn my machine and some skills. Watched how to vids on YouTube.
Kits came with everything you need. Was able to make 2 in a few hours. they came out great.
Overall, I am pleased with the kit. I have made three. Two with the printed plaid and one using Dyneema material.
I wasn’t sure about sewing the Dyneema material, and am pleasantly surprised at the relative ease it was to work with, at least with this size of project.
One issue I had was getting the orientation of the zipper correct. The first project I ended up with the pulls for the zipper on the inside. For second and third kits, in addition to playing the video as before, I ‘dry fitted’ the parts, folding into place and pinning to double check the final orientation of the zipper.
