IMPORTANT - Please pay special attention to orientation of the Uretek coil zipper. A common mistake when constructing the ZPP is to flip the zipper the wrong way out.

The video above details the correct orientation with teeth  FACE DOWN when attaching coil to fabric. This will ensure the water-resistant, coated side of the Uretek zipper ends up on the outside of your ZPP.

Great bag!

The video linked is terrible, find the one with the guy making a black bag with the white outline and make sure that you position the zipper so that there will be no white edging visible when it is finished. I still like mine and it is super durable and a good shape for my pack.

Hey Matt, we're sorry the video wasn't helpful for you! We are working on redoing our instructions and videos so we will make sure to mention these tips. Let us know if you have any questions about future projects, we're here to help!

Neat kit

It is cool you can pick from so many colors. However, there aren't very clear instructions with the kit. It took almost a month to receive my order after placing it with some other in-stock materials. Use a new needle; DCF is easy to work with but it wears needles quick. This size makes a good dopkit.

Thanks for your review Chris! We apologize that your order took longer than normal to ship. Please reach out if you have any questions about future projects or ordering issues, we're here to help!

Neat, but not unsure if I’d buy again!

This is a very cool kit, and the price is definitely right! Unfortunately, there are a couple things that sort of take away from it.
For starters, there are no written directions. There’s a link to a video, but if you have trouble learning from videos, you’re SOL. The video directions are also not amazing. I’m an experienced sewist (like, I sew lingerie regularly), and I found it a bit frustrating trying to complete this project, and I think that was largely due to having to google for written directions to similar projects, and then adapt them to fit.
Additionally, I found the color didn’t really match what I’d selected. I was looking for a greenish teal, but ended up with dark hunter green.
All that said, it’s still a great kit, and if you don’t have any learning issues and aren’t picky about colors, it’s worth a buy.

Thanks for your review Autumn! We're sorry the color didn't turn out the way you were expecting. We are also hoping to update our instructions for the kits very soon. Please reach out to us for help with your next project, we're here to help!

Christmas gifts!

Had a great time sewing up these kits for Christmas gifts! The delivery was a bit slower due to the Black Friday rush… But I was able to get them done and out in time. They were a HUGE hit!!

Thanks so much for the review and your patience while your package got delivered to you. The ZPP Kits make great gifts, we're glad they were a hit!

Fun, easy beginner project

This was my second build-your-own-gear project. I just got a sewing machine, and wanted to make something I'd use as well as check out the dyneema fabric. With some help from youtube videos, I got it all put together in not too long, and it looks good. The only gotcha was that my fabric came with a border, and I initially tried to cut it off. I eventually figured out that the border would be hidden with the correct edge folding.

Thanks so much Jud! We are glad your second DIY project turned out well and that the kit was easy to sew. Let us know if you have any questions about creating future projects, we're here to help!
