Ive used plain sylpoly with good success for tarps and tent ground sheets- easy to sew, light weight. Sylpoly is too slippery for tent floors- RBTR and Thermarest do not have solutions for this. The hexcam ('wasteland' and '5-echo") 1.1 sylpoly have a matt finish, both sides, and a soft hand feel. It has a similar sound to other thin nylons when I run my fingernails across it. It is quieter after it has been in the freezer overnight. Enough light penetrates the fabric that you could use it as a tarp. I like reptiles, and these colour patterns are attractive. The browns and yellows in the stupidly-named "wasteland" would be fine camoflage in the yellow-orange-browns in the fall in the northern alpine and tundra landscapes I spend time in. The medium greens of the "5 echo" pattern are too bright a green (think Irish) for the light green and greys of the summer in these habitats. I'd use the former for a tarp, tarp tent top, light duty non-breathable rain wear, or pack cover, especially if it was on sale. Keep up the good work on these new colour patterns and the extra wide fabrics!

I haven't started my project yet but this pattern is going to be great for my poncho/shelter I plan on using it for.
