Customer Project: Voile Strap Full-suspension Framebag

• MATERIALS

• I made this for my personal bike for the Kenai 250 race in AK. The bike is a Transition Carbon Smuggler 29er. The bag is very simple, with one main pocket and a rolltop closure utilizing a thick voile ski strap. It's held up now for 3 years of heavy use.
• • Traced my frame and acounted for the rear linkage's full range of movement
  • Cleaned up linework and added 3/8" seam allowance
  • Made a mock-up of rolltop closure to make sure it layed flat when rolled 3-4 times
  • Sewed inside out and added bias binding
  • Flipped rightside out and attached to bike

• Required Materials:

  • 1/2(ish) yard of scrap topo printed XPAC V21 RS
  • Remnants of 2.92 oz Dyneema Composite in black
  • Remants of 1 oz clear dyneema for internal center portion
  • Insulated Reflectix for padding along center portion
  • 2 & 4in velcro strategically placed for proper tension
  • Voile ski strap, female end sewn in with 1" webbing
