Customer Project: Pocket Foil Kite

by Redwolf

  • It was a windy day here in Yuma AZ. I decided to try to fly kite. It flew pretty well but needed a really good gust of wind. I thought if it was made from a lighter fabric maybe it would fly better. So I recreated the pattern and made it from leftover 1.0 oz/yd Dyneeema® Composite Fabric I had from another project. One issue I have is that it looks like I am flying an old circle K bag instead of a kite. I plan to use some different colors so it is more vibrant. I also plan to try different patterns and make a more interesting design. One positive thing is the small, lightweight pack size.
