Customer Project: Dog emergency carry sling

There are no emergency carry slings available on the market for a smaller dog. My Schipperke weighs about 12 pounds, so a bit too heavy for me to carry for very long. I also needed something for climbing rebar ladders while hiking with him, so that my hands were free for climbing. The long straps are crossed around my back if I am carrying him in front. If I carry him in back, I do not cross the long straps, but will put each strap coming down the front of my shoulder under my backpack's stern strap, so that it won't slide off my shoulders.
1. Cut the piece of fabric, and cut out the front leg holes.
2. Pad the front leg holes just a bit by sewing a double folded strip of fleece fabric around each leg hole.
3. Double roll the edge of the silnylon all the way around.
4. Use scraps of a thicker fabric (than the 1.1 oz MTN silnylon) to make reinforcement circles, and then started sewing on all the straps.
5. Before sewing the 2nd end of each back leg strap, pad the back leg straps by sewing a 'tube' of the fleece fabric for each back leg strap, sliding it onto the strap before sewing down the 2nd end of each strap.
Required Materials:

1.1 MTN silnylon 6.6 in blaze orange (24" x 20" piece)
scraps of fleece fabric
Gutermann Mara 50, charcoal gray (for sewing on all the straps)
Gutermann Mara 70, charcoal gray (for rolling the edge of the fabric)
1" venom UHMWPE hybrid webbing (4 feet)
1" dragon tension lock (2)
