Paired with a mid-layer (like the Alpha Raglan Hoodie pattern), this shell will provide puffy jacket-like qualities without having to pack both items.
A great shell also has a good fit. This jacket has Raglan sleeves which allow for a high range of motion and move the seams low on the chest to avoid hot spots. A well-fitted hood with brim stiffener and optional cord channel help keep your visibility even when the weather goes awry. Detailed illustrations to help you taper the fit to your body.
Sewing Skill Level - Advanced Beginner
While a beginner can make this project, familiarity with sewing terms and construction techniques is expected. For best results, a serger is recommended. A zig zag or overcast stitch will work but results may vary based on individual skill. This is a great beginner garment pattern with technical ultralight woven fabrics. Make a prototype and have fun!
