This was my first project with a zipper and the cut fabric, instructional video, and materials were great! The project turned out perfectly -- except I constructed it with the 'trail days' written upside down as you viewed the bag. Oh well!

I bought the kit along with additional fabric & hardware to make fanny packs for my son & hiking buddy. I had a good time making the pouches. Very easy following along with the video. Everyone was pleased with the results.

I’ve only been sewing for a few weeks, and I wanted a kit with zippers. This was my first zipper build, and it turned out great. Easy to follow video. After installing the zippers, the top and bottom side panels were no longer the same size, so I simply trimmed them and sent it. It is water resistant when you are done. It will need to be seam sealed for even better results. The design is easy enough that I have since cut out one and made it for me. I had given the kit to my mom. I added a stretch pocket to the front of mine, using the same technique as shown for the rear pocket. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the kit to anyone else who is either starting out, or doesn’t feel like doing all the measuring and cutting.

I got the UL fanny pack kit to try out the fabric and to practice making more complex projects. The kit was easy to assemble, and I really like the X-pac material and topographic print. I put the bag to good use for holding my wallet and a few sundries while riding my motorcycle off-road in Death Valley this weekend. It worked perfectly, and I hardly knew it was there.
