Non-Woven | Definition

Pronunciation:

non  wō-ven

Definition:

A non-woven is  a fabric that is produced through means other than weaving. These methods can be mechanical, chemical, thermal, or a combination of all three. Typical non-wovens can be found in diapers, wipes, landscaping paper, and many other industries. In the outdoor world, laminates (meaning layers of plastic or woven materials that are laminated together) like Dyneema® Composite Fabric, X-Pac®, Ultra, and ECOPAK are seen as the top tier pack materials because of their high waterproof characteristics, ability to be easily taped and structure.
