DIY Silpoly Thru-Hike Tarp using 0.9oz MEMBRANE silpoly PU4000 from ripstopbytheroll.com. This is based on similar tarps that I have seen hikers using the last couple years. Total weight when complete with zing-it guy lines 11oz.
7yds of MEMBRANE silpoly PU4000 - Olive Yellow cut in half, then sewn length wise using matching Gutermann MARA 70 thread. Added cat cuts, then re-inforcements. Heavier webbing with Beastie Ds, Beastee Dee ring - 1" for trekking poles. And some 3/8" grossgrain ribbon for tie-outs and for some hanging loops down the length for bug net or clothesline
