This is an 11' gathered-end hammock with a full zipper on both sides of the hammock.
Cut and square hammock material by aligning the selvage edges and making square cuts on each end. The raw cut should be 12'. make a roll hem (I use 1/2") on each long side then make a 3" rolled hem on each end. The 3" rolled hems should be triple stitched just as Kyle shows in his instructional video. I then added a length of coil zipper on each long edge beginning end ending at the inside of the sewn channel. I used the Bug Net guide on DIYGearSupply to make the symmetric bug net. Sew the mated zipper to the edges of the bug net then install n the hammock.Â
Required Materials:
Four yards of 1.7 MTN XL, three yards of 0.9 noseeum, and 22' of #3 coil zipper with four two-way sliders, two for each side of the hammock.
