This is a roll top bag designed to fit onto a front rack, specifically the surly 24 pack rack. Can be used for bikepacking, commuting, grocery getting, take out food carrying…
Make template by tracing outline of the rack onto cardboard and increase that tracing by your seam allowance.
Cut out template and create bottom panel.
From there you can determine what you want the height of your side panels to be. I made my side panels 20 inches tall.
Bottom panel needs Velcro loop attachment on the left and right side. Also needs to buckle/webbing loops front and back. This is how the bag attaches to the rack.
Sandwich foam between two layers of fabric for the bottom panel and the front/back panels.
Side panels need male buckle/webbing for roll top closure sewn near bottom
Sew your bag together
Finish with roll top webbing and female buckles at the top lip of the bag
