  • 1.2 oz/yd 2 Dyneeema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber) waterproof breathable. Utilizing a combination of non-woven polyester, Dyneema fiber, and an ePTFE membrane, this fabric combines the lightweight strength of Dyneema with extreme waterproofness and breathability.

DCF is a patented, ultra-lightweight fabric made of flexible non-woven composite laminates which are reinforced with Dyneema ® fibers.

This fabric is costly and for good reason. It's 15x strong than steel and provides the highest tear and tensile strength of any competing fabric on a weight-by-weight and thickness basis. Use only for projects that demand high-performance and the absolute best in ultra-lightweight, waterproof fabric.

Best used for ultralight tarps, tents, flys, and med-light duty stuff sacks.

I've made three jackets and three pairs of pants of this fabric and so far I love it. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you have a decent amount of experience making gear because it's so expensive and stitch holes are more permanent than in woven fabrics, but I think it's fantastic that a top-of-the-line WP/B fabric is available to MYOGers
