I used this to make a down top quilt and I can't believe how soft it feels. I tried using a universal needle at first but it was tearing the fabric instead of pushing the fibers aside. Switched to a Microtex (sharp point) as well as a smaller thread size and everything was fine. The charcoal is much darker than other fabrics of the same color, but looks great when paired with the burnt orange.
This stuff(in black) looks and feels like a trash bag but performs beyond your wildest dreams. Incredibly durable, water resistant and completely downproof. I built some hats out of it and they’re a huge hit! The only warning I would say is that if you’re new to sewing or this is your first project, expect to burn through some of this. Like any silky fabric, it’s very difficult to work with.
Prices are good, service is fast. Sometimes slow in answering questions but everything else is great.
Very little stretch, easy to cut, very smooth.
The charcoal grey is very dark, too, so I recommend using chalk to draw the lines on it.
