  • 0.8 oz/yd 2  Dyneeema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber). DCF is a patented, ultra-lightweight fabric made of flexible non-woven composite laminates which are reinforced with Dyneema ®  fibers.

This fabric is costly and for good reason. It's   15x strong than steel  and provides the   highest tear and tensile strength  of any competing fabric on a weight-by-weight and thickness basis. Use only for projects that demand high-performance and the absolute best in ultra-lightweight, waterproof fabric.

The   0.8 oz/yd 2  variant of DCF has twice the Dyneema® fiber content of the 0.51  oz/yd 2, which translates into significantly higher tensile and tear strength. Best used for ultralight tarps, tents, flys, and med-light duty stuff sacks.

*Spruce Green color listed here is the exact same as the former 0.74 oz Cuben Fiber Spruce Green.

*Note that all DCF fabrics are  sold in 1/2 yd increments  to help reduce cost for smaller projects. Please enter a whole number of half yards in the box up top. For example, if you want 7 yds total, enter "14" in the half yard box.

Good material, but haven't used in the field yet

This is fairly lightweight and easy to work with. It's 30% lighter than the 1.1 material Hyperlite uses for their dry stuffsacks, but I was easily able to produce (relatively) air tight sacks from this .8 material. It'll be interesting to see how they stand up to field usage, though.

Hi Christian, We'd love to hear your thoughts on the material after some field use. Thanks for the review!

Great products, great service!

I ordered a selection of DCF fabric, line locks, DCF repair tape, and cordage. Everything came quickly, in good shape, and for a very reasonable price given how expensive DCF is. Thanks RBTR for helping to feed my MYOG addiction!

Thanks for the review KNG, we strive to get your order out fast! If you ever have any questions, please let me know.

Dcf fabrics by the inch please

It is sure pricey to sew dcf projects, especially for Canadians. Adding the currency exchange 29%, the bite that visa takes (3 or 4%), our goods and services tax 5%, the shipping, and the border inspection fee $10, make a significant disincentive to use expensive fabrics. Since you are able to sell the print on demand fabrics by the inch, can you please consider moving away from the 18 inch increments to actual inches for dcf fabrics. Thanks. I read and appreciate all your information articles and project info.
