lightest, thinnest waterproof fabric we offer.

Woven from ultralight, 7 denierHT Nylon 6.6 yarn, it's almost 20% lighter than our MEMBRANE Silpoly, but with roughly 2x the tear strength.

It's also coated on both sides with a super high-end silicone coating for maximum durability and an ample  waterproof rating of ~ 2000 mm.

If you want lighter gear with maximum strength that packs up smaller, this is the fabric for you.

Typical applications include tarps, tents, rain gear, stuff sacks, pack covers, or any application requiring a premium ultralight, water/windproof textile.

ULTRALIGHT NOTE - This is a high-end, niche ultralight material. When choosing to use it, you accept that all ultralight materials are inherently less durable than heavier options. Treat them with care and caution.

Amazing fabric

There is nothing like this anywhere. A marvel of engineering. I would not, however, recommend it for the beginner. Not the easiest material to handle while sewing !
I have not tested it yet on the trail but it seems very tough for the weight and more tear resistant than some much heavier fabrics.
Thank you RBTR

Thank YOU for your awesome review! We are glad you love it as much as we do, it's a really unique fabric. We'd love to see what you created with 0.77 MTN Silnylon, be sure to tag us on social media!

Material purchased for tent

Made my own dome tent. Very light but strong. Withstand strong mountain wind gusts with no damage during hike through Israel.

Thanks so much for the review Cornelius! We would LOVE to see photos of your dome tent. Here is a link you can share photos with us! https://forms.gle/oPET3XBFXfNwVEx88

I bought a sample for HH testing. Performed well!

Samples performed well (both new and simulated aging) during Suter testing per the spec. Looking forward to making a nice UL flat tarp out of it!

Thanks for the review Michael! I'm glad you were able to test the samples before biting the bullet. Make sure to share photos of your making process or finished tarp by tagging us on social media!

Great Service

I bought a few small pieces of fabric to try my hand at making some small projects (ditty bags and the like), and I genuinely enjoyed the email that I got after my first order. It was a nice little touch. The fabric was perfect, as I would expect based on how much people in the backpacking/camping community seem to love this place. I’m looking forward to trying bigger projects eventually. I’m not very good with the sewing machine yet, but it’s just a matter of time until I start trying my hand at tarps and the like. Based on other reviews, I really feel like RBTR is going to be a great partner in my projects.

For real, thank you, RBTR, I’m really excited.

Thanks so much for your awesome review Derrick! We're glad you're happy with the fabric and the small projects you made. Making your own gear is definitely addicting. Let us know if you. have any questions about future projects, we're here to help!

Very thin, shockingly strong

I bought this to make stuff sacks where I didn't really care about strength but wanted some water protection, and was blown away by how tear resistant this stuff is.
