I ordered this fabics from France. It as bien sent quickly, and well packed. This is a realy good fabric, very light and strong for it's weight.
The material was strong and very easy to work with, using standard needles and good quality thread and a rotary cutter and fabric weights (press hard). Did not use pins, of course. I did not need to press seams or worry about cut edges unravelling, I sewed false flat felled seams and I did tape all seams at the end using seam grip + strips of material to cover the seam grip (a bit messy, buy seam tape instead! The material in 1 inch strips curls a lot when glue is applied).
I ended up using seam grip to put in two slash side pocket zippers, just like a commercial jacket, and that worked very well with zero sewing. The largest challenge was finding a pattern for a woman's raincoat with a full front zipper.
I have only worn it once so far, on a dry day hike and I did find it seals up and is much hotter than my cycling jacket which is windproof but not waterproof. However my new jacket weighs only 6.5 oz. (full front zip, side zips, lots of seam seal and full hood, large), and is much lighter than my current windjacket. The one less star is because it may still end up being not venting enough for me without pit zips... time will tell.
1.4 oz 10D Waterproof/Breathable
Great service and product. Happy with my purchase :)
My plan was to make a poncho that also worked as an underquilt protector; so I needed something that was both waterproof and breathable. Originally I was going to go with 3.3 oz for durability but decided instead to go with the lighter 1.4 oz. No regrets! It more durable than expected and very light weight and packable.
