I purchases both the 2.9oz/yd and the 5.0oz/yd dyneema hybrid fabric in omnicolor solid. One color was in black because the black hybrid fabric was sold out, so I paid $22 more a yard so I didn’t have to wait, that’s on me. The 5.0 fabric I ordered in the “dark olive” color according to the existing stock color guide on the pantone color page. What I received doesn’t come close to any other fabric I’ve ordered in “dark olive” from RipstopbytheRoll so that was disappointing. I understand that shades can vary but with over 1300 colors, I think a better match could have been made. The DCF Hybrid fabric itself is awesome in both weights.
Though I haven’t begun my project, I have no doubt that this material is “IT!”
GREAT FABRIC, GREAT MATERIAL!
I really enjoy the punch of visual interest that the Omni-Color Solids provide to a project! No longer must we be slaves to 10 different versions of khaki in the backcountry. The dying process results in a depth of color that matches anything off the manufacturer's traditional assembly line. The stuff is definitely a luxury though given its cost and delayed fulfillment times (ergo, the downgrade to 4 stars). Until the process gets more refined and affordable, integrate it into your projects with restraint.
Exactly what I need. This burnt orange Dyneema matches my burnt orange ZPacks (no longer carries this orange) ARC BLAST Backpack will I will make into a large zippered pouch (about 9"x12"x3" - larger than ZPacks Multi-Pack) to shift some of pack weight from the back to front. Will use for carrying maps, snacks, compass, windbreaker, etc., etc.; reachable while walking.
Will send a photo when done.
