    (3) 18" x 30" grab bag fabric blanks - see pic on left for current fabrics (*note that we may need to interchange fabrics/colors as needed based on current supply)
    (1) 6 foot section of drawcord
    (1) 1 foot section of 3/4" black grossgrain
    (3) mini-cordlocks

Pilot run for making stuff sacks to a specific size

I wanted to make stuff sacks sized exactly right for carrying down vests and jackets for travel. I am a quilter so I am a skilled sewist but have never used nylon or polyester fabrics and thread, and they do sew up differently and need slightly different techniques. The $10 DIY kit was perfect, providing samples of the fabrics I might want to use and allowing me to test out what thread, needles, and techniques to use. I now can order yardage knowing which of the fabrics I prefer and knowing that I will be successful in sewing up what we need

$10 DIY Kit Rocks!

This was a great way to get started with the whole DIY thing. My first try was ugly and had some glaring mistakes. My second try was very functional and pretty decent looking, and the third was the charm. I am having so much fun making my own gear!

Used the kit to make a bag for my hammock- turned out great, got practice with using outdoor fabrics before attempting a larger project, and mad a couple smaller bags too!
