We will be making a full build video covering our zipper pouches soon, but the process is exactly the same as the ZPP kit build. The only real differences with the ZP are an asymmetric zipper placement and sewing the pouch flat instead of creating a "box" or pill shape with the ZPP.

Before starting your Zipper Pouch build, be sure to head over to the ZPP kit page to watch our instructional video (thanks to Backcountry Exposure) for a refresher on the build process before starting your Zipper Pouch Kit.

I thought that it was great fun. It was my first foray into making bags. It was a great first project.

Hi Jacob, Thanks for the review! Here's to many more projects!
Zip Pouch Kit

Very nice kit. Straight forward setup once you get the hang of using a sewing machine. Love that you can adjust the size of the pouch if you need a more custom size.

Zipper Pouch

As always, great materials and great service from RSBTR.
I've now made 7 of these, 2 of each size and then another extra medium one. The kits are great and the pouches end up being nice handy organizers. I use the larger one for my GoPro, and batteries, the medium one is great for my battery bank and cables, and the small one for keys and/or other doodads.
If you're new to DIY and/or sewing, I'd suggest starting with the stuff sack kit, then these zipper pouches, then the ZPP kits, and then the hip belt kits if you were going to try to make all of them. To me, that seemed to be the progression in level of difficulty.

Zipper Pouch Kit

I purchased two zipper pouch kits. I am an experienced sewer. I put both pouches together in less than an hour. I didn't have access to the instructions on The internet because I live way up in Northern Michigan off grid. The pouches were very intuitive. For someone who is less experienced with sewing it might be better to have some printed instructions but hey how many live off grid! All in all a great project the pouches are so tight they stay blown up like balloons unless I press the air out of them. I am impressed with the material and will love using my large pouch for snacks and maps while backpacking. Keep up the good work Kyle and gang. Would you consider carrying more technical clothing type material? I know I would be interested.
