I have never used 1.9 ripstop before . It is soft enough I don't need a cover . I'm surprised at it's strength , it has been though some stuff. But it has only sustained a small pin hole and a scratch after everyday use of a month as a 14 foot gathered-end hammock with red stitching for all. (looks dope) Two washings (bi-weekly) and It looks like I'm going to have it for some time , and I'm looking forward to it. TNX RSBTR .
8 yards was purchased for a friend of mine and I to try our hand at making our own hammock because we love all things DIY. This fabric was great to work with once our machines were dialed in. For my first project this fabric was a great mix of weight and durability for an 11 foot hammock. I’m already planning to order material for an XL wide hammock. Shipping was faster than expected, I believe within 2 days. Fabric was lighter in color than expected per imaging on the site, but this does not effect how great the fabric is to work with (I took away 1 star due to color differences). If you want a stuff sack and a hammock out of 4 yards of fabric you may have to plan on a 10 foot hammock.
The ripstop is exactly what I was looking for. Excellent customer service and quick shipping.
Amazing fabric, a joy to work with. No blemishes or color differences, not the easiest to see a constant stich in (but I'm using a 1920s singer so it might be that). Make sure you have a friggin sharp pair of scissors and you're good to go. I used Ginger brand. Arrived early, good price, will buy again.
First order w them went great! Definitely recommend!
