ECO4EVA

I've been using ECO silpoly for 2+ years and highly recommend it if you want a lightweight, highly compressible material. Would recommend.

PET Seam Seal Tape
Ken Chaney
Tape stuck!

Used the tape for a tent seam repair. It stuck to the old nylon well. I did use a seam roller to put pressure on the tape.

Amazing

Love Love Love this fabric! So versatile and surprisingly durable

Dyneema® Composite Fabric Double-Sided Adhesive Tape - Full Spools

Great Product, Good range of Options

I have found that overall the material stands up to a beating, and has amazing strength to weight ratio. On that note, it is also very difficult to cut, scissors will not do… make sure you have a good snap-off knife and cutting mat, even a rotary cutter is not sufficient and will dull after a few cuts. I recommend this as the latest and greatest dealer-available material; to be used on backpacks, and accessories.

The best fabric for ultralight backpack !

The nylon surface makes it resistant to abrasion.

Thanks for the review! 2.92 Dyneema is a great pack fabric, its ultralight and super durable. It also comes in many different colors due to our specialty printing, so you can really customize your pack the way you want it. We hope your pack serves you well.

Fantastic service.

Excellent materials. Super good service. Postage is slow, so leave some time.

Thanks Victoria! We work really hard to supply the best materials and the best service we possibly can. Let us know if you need anything in the future, we will be glad to help.

Challenge Ultra 200

This material is great! Made a pack, and I'm loving it. Nice look and feel, doesn't look like backpack material at all.

Thanks Kevin. Challenge Ultra 200 is an excellent pack material thats super lightweight and durable. We would love to see your pack if you're willing to share it with us on Instagram. Thanks again.

0.67oz DCF

Thanks Peter! Our custom printing process allows us to make a variety of different colors so you can really customize your gear. Enjoy your fabric and have fun DIYing!

Alpha direct hoodie, beanie and shawl

Was very pleased with the product. 2 yards was plenty for me to design and make a hoodie, shawl and beanie. All very warm and extremely lightweight. The hoodie weighs in at < 4 oz. The shawl is multi purpose as I also use it as a lap blanket or sleeping bag blanket on colder nights.

Thanks Deb! Polartec Alpha Direct 4004 is an absolutely awesome apparel fabric. Its excellent as an insulating layer and for beanies, mittens, shawls. We also now provide custom printing on it so you can put any design you want onto your next hoodie! Thanks again for the review and we would love to see your projects if you are willing to share with us on Instagram.

MIL-SPEC Nylon Webbing

210D ROBIC® Ripstop Nylon
bitterroot gear
210D Robic rocks!

I have occasionally been disappointed with 200(+/-) denier/4 oz./sq. yd. fabrics--oxford nylons and the occasional ripstop weave. 210D Robic, however, is fabulous: a firm hand, a small, tight grid pattern to minimize stretch and abrasion, and a good PU coating both for waterproofness and stability. Sews as easily as 500D Cordura. I have sewn a couple of items in the Robic and think with a bit of common-sense care, this should be durable stuff on the trail for folks who don't abuse their gear. (I sewed my first pack in 1970, with about 1600 more that followed under a couple of labels. Also worked in a couple of iconic Seattle gear factories, so have handled LOTS of different fabrics.) 210D Robic is schweet!

Thanks for the amazing review! 210d Robic is an awesome fabric and we are glad you enjoyed it. Its great to hear with someone as much experience as you to leave such a great review. We hope your gear lasts a long time and you get a lot of use out of it. Let us know if we can help with anything in the future, we would be glad to assist.

grosgrain

As always, top notch. This is a winner.

Thanks Anne! We hope you enjoy, let us know if you need anything else.

Good stuff

It was a simple kit to sew. Fold, sew, tape, then refold, sew, done. I wish they offered a slightly larger kit, but it is easy enough to order materials for a larger bag. I like the colors the kit is available in.

Thanks for the review Steve! The OutdoorINK Roll Top Dry Bag is a great kit with a lot of uses, and its easy to sew! If you're interested in making a larger version we offer a lot of printable materials so you can customize your own bag! Let us know if you need anything in the future we would love to help!

Perfect backstay material for packs of

Not too many places that had a foam and mesh piece that I could use for my 31 yo terraplane pack. RSBTR had a perfect size foam and mesh piece. It was cheaper and thicker (which I wanted). The 1/4" size slipped in with a little help and now I can continue using my old pack for hiking. Thanks RSBTR!

Thanks David! We love the idea of repairing old gear to give it new life. That's one of the greatest parts of MYOGing. We appreciate your business and hope your pack has many more years of life in it. Let us know if we can be of any help in the future.

My first DIY hammock!

Super fabric, low stretch and comfortable! Haven’t sewn anything since school, still it turned out great! I had some shoulder squeeze in my WBB XLC, and the one I made has none! I’ve already ordered some of the 1.2 version fabric, looking forward to it. The import tax does make it more expensive but nowhere in Europe that I know of offers this fabric. Very happy customer!

Great review Tommy! We love to hear people starting out on their MYOGing and how we help make that possible. 1.7 MTN XL Ripstop Nylon and 1.2 MTN XL Ripstop Nylon are great options for hammocks. We strive to provide the best products and options that we possibly can, so we are happy to hear we were able to help you out!

Field tested sleeping quilt

I layered the 5 oz/sq yd with the 2.5 oz/sq yard for a 20 degree quilt (they were out of the 7.5 oz/sq yd insulation). I took it backpacking in March with overnight temperatures of about 26 degrees Fahrenheit. I am usually a cold sleeper, but I was toasty warm and comfortable. I also used a wool sleeping bag liner. This is a huge improvement over my previous supposed 15 degree sleeping bag (not cheap), which had synthetic down insulation that often clumps and leaves cold spots.

The Apex Climashield has a very uniform weave, preventing cold spots and insulation migration or clumping. It also regains its loft very quickly after removal from the compression sack. I also saved about $200 by making my quilt instead of buying the expensive name brand version. My quilt (which has a zipper like a sleeping bag, draft baffles around the neck, and a draw cord) weighs 35 oz. I used the 10D membrane sold by Ripstopbytheroll.

Thanks for the great review! We are so happy to hear your quilt kept you toasty throughout those cold nights. Apex Climashield is a great option for quilts and has a lot of great features. The best part about MYOGing is not only saving money, but also being able to customize it exactly how you want it. We hope your quilt keeps on keeping you warm through those cold backpacking trips for many seasons to come. Let us know if you need help with any future projects, we'd be glad to assist!

The truth

In a vacuum the 1/4" is great, more cushion and a breathable material. But then you work with it. 1/4" mesh is never being stitched alone. When your making shoulder straps you sew through mesh, foam, webbing, and nylon. My sewing machine cries when I do this. The same situation happens when I use it for back pads or hip belts. The material is just too thick. I say stick to the 1/8" mesh and if they ever make a 1/16" mesh then I'll buy that.

Thanks Danny for the review and the tips about the difficulties of sewing Spacer Mesh. We appreciate your business and the suggestions, let us know if you need anything in the future.

Fabulous material!

This fabric is a breeze to sew with and easy to cut with a rotary cutter! I made a tent with it and I am looking forward to taking it out backpacking this summer.

Thanks Bruce! We love Dyneema fabrics and are really happy you had an easy time making your tent! We hope it keeps you dry and you can use it for many camping trips. If you would like to share your tent with us on Instagram we would love that.

Good stuff!

I bought this to make a 3 season quilt for my son. I think it’s pretty true to, if not better than the Climashield temp rating on their website. Granted he generates a lot more heat than my old body, but we spent a few nights out recently in the mid to low 20s and he had no complaints. I have a heavier quilt with APEX and found the same to be true.

Thanks for the review Josh! Climashield is great for quilts and we are glad you found it to be even better than expected. We hope your quilts keep you warm through many cold nights to come!
